Fjord Hikes · Stavanger, Flørli and Lysebotn
Fjord Hikes walks you up the Lysefjord in three days: Preikestolen, then the 4,444 wooden steps at Flørli, then Kjerag, with nights at Flørli and in Lysebotn. Pick it to see the fjord the way the day tours can't, from a village with no road and from the far end below the boulder.

Day one is Preikestolen with a guide, about 5 hours on the listing. Then an hour on the Lysefjord takes you to Flørli, a hamlet on the south shore with no road at all. The night is there, with dinner. Day two climbs the Flørli stairs: 4,444 wooden steps beside an old hydropower pipeline, up to about 750 m. Another hour on the fjord brings you to Lysebotn for the second night and another dinner.
Day three is Kjerag: the 30-minute drive up the Lysevegen hairpins, then about 5 hours on the trail. That's the order we'd choose too. The easiest hike comes first, the stairs are the leg-burner in the middle, and Kjerag comes last, when you know the group and the guide. Much of the travel is on the water, and on the way to Lysebotn you pass beneath the Kjerag wall, which no Stavanger sightseeing cruise reaches.
The fine print. It costs $1,615 per person, has only two reviews (both five stars) and books for two or three adults at a time, aged 18 to 70. Cancellation is free only up to 3 days before, not the usual 24 hours. Meals cover two breakfasts, two lunches and two dinners, so lunch on day one is yours. And it depends on the summer boats and the Lysebotn season, so treat it as a summer-only plan.
Pickup in Stavanger, then the guided hike to Pulpit Rock, about 5 hours.
About an hour on the Lysefjord to the roadless hamlet. Dinner and the night at Flørli.
Breakfast, then the wooden staircase up the old pipeline to about 750 m and back down to the fjord. About 5 hours.
An hour further up the fjord to Lysebotn, at its inner end. Dinner and the second night.
Breakfast, 30 minutes up the Lysevegen hairpins, then about 5 hours to Kjeragbolten and back, lunch included.
The drive back over the mountains ends the trip.

Hard, mostly because the days stack up. Each has about 5 hours of hiking: Preikestolen (about 8 km and 500 m of climbing), the 4,444 Flørli steps to about 750 m, then Kjerag (about 11 km and 750 to 800 m over three chained climbs). The listing asks for strong fitness.
Free cancellation up to 3 days before the start, with no refund after that. Most Viator tours, including every other trip on this site, allow 24 hours.
The first night is at Flørli, the roadless hamlet at the foot of the stairs, and the second in Lysebotn at the inner end of the fjord. Both are included, with dinner each evening.
Two or three adults per booking, aged 18 to 70. Youths aged 13 to 17 can come with an adult. Groups stop at eight.
